Bumpin Uglies

Bumpin Uglies is an American reggae-punk band hailing from Annapolis, Maryland. Founded in 2008 by lead vocalist and guitarist Brandon Hardesty, the band has carved a niche in the music scene with their distinctive blend of reggae, ska, and punk rock. Hardesty, initially performing solo at local open mics, joined forces with bassist Dave "Wolfie" Wolf and drummer T.J. Haslett to form the core lineup. Over the years, the band expanded to include keyboardist Ethan Lichtenberger and saxophonist Will Lopez, enriching their sound with diverse musical elements.

The band's early years were marked by relentless touring and a DIY ethos, building a dedicated fanbase through energetic live performances and grassroots promotion. Their debut album, "Free Candy," released in 2011, showcased their raw energy and lyrical prowess. This was followed by "Go Folk Yourself" in 2012 and "Ninjah: Reggae Assassins" in 2013, each album reflecting their evolving sound and growing confidence as musicians. Bumpin Uglies' music is characterized by a melody-driven, free-spirited blend of ska, reggae, and punk, with a strong focus on lyrics and crowd-pleasing grooves. Their influences include pioneering bands like Sublime, Bad Religion, Reel Big Fish, and Goldfinger.

The album featured collaborations with notable artists such as Howi Spangler of Ballyhoo!, Gary Dread of The Movement, and members of Passafire and Tropidelic.
