Surfer Girl

Carter Reeves, hailing from Wayland, Massachusetts, first gained prominence as the frontman of the hip-hop/pop duo Aer. With Aer, Reeves developed a distinctive sound that blended elements of hip-hop, pop, and reggae, setting the stage for his future musical endeavors. After Aer disbanded, Reeves embarked on a solo career, exploring various musical styles and honing his craft as a songwriter and performer. In 2021, Reeves introduced his latest project, Surfer Girl, marking a significant evolution in his musical journey. Surfer Girl seamlessly fuses indie-pop, reggae, surf-rock, and hip-hop, reflecting Reeves' diverse influences and his passion for feel-good, genre-blending music.

The project quickly gained traction, resonating with audiences seeking vibrant and uplifting sounds. Surfer Girl's debut EP, released in early 2021 via Ineffable Records, showcased Reeves' ability to craft catchy melodies and infectious rhythms. The EP's success paved the way for the release of the full-length album 'Sunrise' in September 2022. 'Sunrise' featured collaborations with notable artists such as The Elovaters, Shwayze, and The Skints, highlighting Reeves' commitment to community and collaboration within the reggae and surf-rock scenes. Building on the momentum of 'Sunrise,' Surfer Girl released the sophomore album 'Noon' in July 2023.

This 13-track LP demonstrated Reeves' growth as an artist, blending surf-rock, pop, and reggae influences to create a dynamic and engaging listening experience. Tracks like 'Disco Dust' and 'Motion' featuring Tessellated showcased the project's versatility and ability to appeal to a broad audience. Surfer Girl's energetic live performances have become a hallmark of the project.
